App: Smart Packing Pro: Travel List for Android

Contact: devlopersamartha@gmail.com

Scope and how the app works

This policy describes Smart Packing Pro for Android version 4.5.3 and later. The app does not provide a developer-run user account or a cloud service that synchronizes trips. Trips, packing lists, preferences, reminders, and Travel Vault content are stored on your device. Some features send information to service providers as described below.

Version 4.5.2 included optional Bluetooth-based Nearby sharing; that feature was removed in version 4.5.3. Builds before version 4.5.2+191 used Open-Meteo for weather. An older build that remains installed may continue making those requests. Earlier builds may also differ in permissions and optional Firebase features.

Core packing and previously saved content can be used offline. Destination search, weather, guide and configuration updates, Google Play purchase checks, optional diagnostics, and advertising when enabled require a network connection.

Information stored on your device

The app stores trips, lists, templates, preferences, reminders, and Travel Vault data locally. Travel Vault files are encrypted on your device. We do not upload your trip database or Vault documents to a Smart Packing Pro server.

Backups and sharing are started by you and create copies outside the app. A backup containing Vault documents requires a password of at least eight characters. The backup is only as strong as that password, and we cannot recover a forgotten password. Backups made by older app versions may be less protected. Copies saved to another device, email, messaging app, or cloud storage are governed by the service where you put them.

Destination, weather, guides, and configuration

When you search for a destination, the city or place text you enter is sent to GeoNames. When you request a forecast, the coordinates of the destination you selected, rounded to four decimal places, are sent to the Norwegian Meteorological Institute (MET Norway). These are destination coordinates you selected; the app does not obtain them from device GPS. Forecasts cover about nine days. GeoNames and MET Norway may receive your IP address and ordinary request information. Older pre-migration builds may send the city, destination coordinates, trip dates, IP address, and ordinary request information to Open-Meteo.

The app may retrieve packing-guide content from public files hosted by GitHub. The request may include the city being viewed and ordinary network information. Google Firebase Remote Config retrieves app configuration and may process a Firebase installation identifier and basic app/device information such as app version, operating system, country, language, and time zone. These configuration requests are separate from optional Analytics and crash-reporting controls.

Optional analytics and diagnostics

If you turn on the Diagnostics & privacy controls, the app may send app-interaction and purchase-lifecycle events to Google Analytics for Firebase and crash reports or diagnostic information to Firebase Crashlytics. These services may process app or installation identifiers and device/app information. The app's custom Analytics events do not include raw trip or search text or purchase tokens. Destination text is sent to GeoNames when you search, as described above.

You can turn these optional controls off from Home > Diagnostics & privacy. Turning a control off stops future optional collection by the app; it does not erase information already received by Google. Firebase Remote Config requests may still occur because they are separate from these optional controls.

Purchases and Lifetime Pro

Google Play processes in-app purchases and provides purchase status so the app can grant or restore access. Smart Packing Pro does not receive your payment-card number. Google Play handles payment information under its own terms and privacy policy. The app receives purchase and entitlement status and may send a purchase-lifecycle event to Analytics when you have enabled optional Analytics.

A purchased or restored Lifetime Pro entitlement remains ad-free. The app also suppresses ads while purchase or restore status is unresolved.

Production advertising is currently disabled. A future approved version may show a Home anchored adaptive banner. If advertising is enabled for your version, Google Mobile Ads (AdMob) and the advertising partners configured for the app may process ad-request, device/app, network, identifier, interaction, and diagnostic information to deliver and measure ads and help prevent fraud. The exact information depends on the SDK version, device settings, region, and your choices. The reviewed Production version does not use the Android Advertising ID. Any future change in identifier use will be described in the applicable policy and notices.

Production UMP privacy messages are not currently published. If advertising and UMP are activated in a future version, UMP will present applicable privacy choices where required. For users in the EEA, UK, and Switzerland, the proposed European message would offer Consent, Manage options, and Do not consent. For users in supported US states, the proposed message would offer an opt-out of sale or sharing or targeted advertising, as applicable. An ad-enabled version will provide an in-app Privacy options control where required so users can revisit applicable choices. Advertising choices and the Diagnostics & privacy controls are separate; changing one does not change the other.

Ad providers and configured partners may receive information to serve and measure ads when ads are enabled. Depending on the applicable law and actual partner processing, this activity may be treated as sharing or targeted advertising. Where required, the supported US-state privacy choice provides an opt-out.

Permissions and information we do not request

The app may request notifications for reminders, camera access to scan trip codes, biometric or device authentication to open the Travel Vault, and Android battery or exact-alarm controls for reminders. The reviewed version does not use device GPS or Bluetooth-based Nearby sharing. If you decline a permission, the feature that needs it may be unavailable while other features continue to work.

The app does not provide a user account or request your name, phone number, or contacts for core app use. It does not upload your locally stored Vault files to a Smart Packing Pro server. If you email support, we receive the address and message content you choose to send.

Retention and deletion

Local app data remains on your device until you clear the app's storage or uninstall it. Export anything you want to keep before deleting local data. Delete backup and shared copies separately from each place where you saved or sent them.

Google services and configured advertising partners, GeoNames, MET Norway, GitHub, and Google Play handle information under their own privacy practices and retention settings. Turning off optional Analytics or Crashlytics stops future optional collection by the app but does not delete information already sent. Smart Packing Pro may be unable to identify or delete records held by a provider. This policy does not promise a provider deletion deadline.

The Data Deletion page explains local deletion and exported-copy limits. For a privacy question or help with applicable diagnostics, email devlopersamartha@gmail.com. Please provide only information reasonably needed to understand your request. Do not email Vault files, passwords, passport scans, or backup archives.

Security

Core data is stored locally and Travel Vault content is encrypted on your device. Network services use their own security controls. No method of storage or transmission is completely risk-free. Protect your device and any exported backup, and keep backup passwords private.

Children

Smart Packing Pro is intended for adults aged 18 and older and is not directed to children under 18. The app does not verify age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Optional diagnostics are not required to use the app, although Firebase configuration traffic may still occur as described above.

Changes and contact

We may update this policy when app features or service providers change. The effective date will be updated when a revised policy is published. For questions, contact Smart Packing Pro at devlopersamartha@gmail.com.
